Nathalie: When I was 23 in the late summer of 2010 I found a lump in my left breast. Because of my young age I was not taken seriously when visiting the breast clinic and got dismissed without further examination due to the lump being hormonal. On the 30th April 2012 I was finally diagnosed with breast cancer. Later that year it was confirmed that the cancer had spread outside the local area to my bones. This makes the cancer incurable and a stage 4, there is no stage 5. I had about 2,5 years of being stable on the then current treatment plan, i.e the spread did not increase. But on the 2nd April 2015 I was told that the cancer has spread extensively throughout my sternum. This blog is a follow on from the blog I started when I was initially diagnosed with primary breast cancer in April 2012. Secondary breast cancer is not widely spoken about and thus this blog will now focus on the perks and challenges of my beautifully imperfect life.
